After 10 years, it’s nearly impossible to imagine the news landscape without Twitter. Nevertheless – or maybe because of this – the demands made by analysts and users on the short-message service are growing. Mark Little, Twitter’s vice president of media in Europe and Africa, offers a look forward: “What’s Next for Twitter and News?”

When Jack Dorsey sent the first tweet 10 years ago, there was no way to predict that the stream of short messages would one day swell to around 500 million per day. Today, around 320 million people around the world use Twitter at least once a month. The social network posted revenues of $2.2 billion last year, but now has to contend with analysts’ demands.
