Taboo-Breaking in Conservative Societies through Social Media

The case of Saudi blogger Raif Badawi showed the significance of the role played by social media in conservative societies. They offer young media voices (particularly in the Arab World) a platform for breaking taboos, whether regarding the relationship between men and women, the behaviour of young people, or in speaking of social problems such as honour killings.
