MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin and re:publica Grow Even Closer Together

The partnership between the capital region's Media Convention and the re:publica conference – which is the largest meeting of the digital society in Europe – was inaugurated in 2014 and attended by a total of 7,000 visitors. The MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin hosts representatives of the national and international media industry and examines questions relating to media and Internet policy while also taking up defining themes on today's media market and providing information about innovative format development and content production. For its part, in the nine years since it was founded, the re:publica conference has developed into the largest social media conference in Europe. In 2015, the re:publica will examine the breadth of Europe's unique digital culture and its approach to Internet policy under the motto "Finding Europe."

Elmar Giglinger, Managing Director of the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg
"The partnership between the MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin and the re:publica conference was very successful in 2014. It's only logical, then, that our next step would be to link the two events even closer together in 2015. Today, digital society and the media are unthinkable without one another. The MEDIA CONVENTION and the re:publica embody that link."

Andreas Gebhard, Managing Director of the re:publica
“After our success in 2014, we're eager to expand our collaboration with the MEDIA CONVENTION. In keeping with the "Finding Europe" motto of rp15, we're going to open ourselves up to an even broader variety of themes relevant to media across Europe. It's a spectrum of topics from which each visitor to the re:publica 15 can profit.”
