The #MCB14 Team Says "Dankeschön" and See you Next Year!

Berlin's new media congress –the MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin – came to a successful close on Wednesday night. More than 2,000 visitors from Germany and abroad took part in the multifaceted sessions focusing on the future of media. Roughly 8,000 people also watched the MEDIA CONVENTION events online via live stream at www.mediaconventionberlin.com and www.morgenpost.de.

Medienboard Managing Director Elmar Giglinger:

"New location, new date, new partners, new environment. The first MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin was an experiment for us – and it turned out brilliantly. We're delighted with the results of our first outing. Plus, our basic idea of joining with the re:publica was a great success. Now we're going to start focusing on individual details for our events in 2015. A big thanks to the whole team for their hard work and also to the re:publica for their seamless cooperation. We also owe thanks to our partner, the Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg."

Roughly 100 national and international presenters and keynote speakers came together under the motto "Media Rules!" to examine the future of media. The speakers included Brigitte Zypries, Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, Richard Porter (BBC), Boris Wasmuth (GameDuell), Jon Handschin (Moviepilot), Christoph Krachten (Media Kraft), Dagmar Reim (rbb), Rowan Barnett (Twitter), Jacob Appelbaum (Journalist), Ingrid Deltrene (EBU), Timm Richter (Xing), Stefan Zilch (Spotify), Thomas Kufus (Zero One Film), Dorothee Bär, Benjamin Ruth (VICE Media Germany), Claus Strunz (Axel Springer), Jochen Wegner (ZEIT ONLINE), Katharina Borchert (SPIEGEL ONLINE), the Yes Men, the teams from Fack ju Göhte, Circus HalliGalli and 24h Jerusalem, and many more.

Thanks to everyone!
