Digital companies’ knowledge about their users’ behaviour and tastes is enabling them to make increasing inroads into the media world, turning traditional models of content production and utilisation upside down. How can the economic potential of digitisation and datification be further utilised? How do Germany and Europe compare internationally? And do we want to leave new media structures wholly to the market, or do we need more constraints and regulations for the digital world? These issues will be discussed by Brigitte Zypries, parliamentary state secretary for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy; Axel Springer SE Executive Vice President Christoph Keese; and Prof. Harald Welzer, a sociologist, thought leader, and director of the FUTURZWEI foundation.
