The fourth revolution
Digitisation is the defining phenomenon of our time. Information and communications technologies determine the way we shop, work, care for our health, cultivate relationships, fill our free time, practise politics, and even how we fight wars. The division between online and offline is shrinking. Humans are creating a new environment – the “infosphere”. Yet who owns information? Who controls its spread? Who has access to information? In a series of short dialogues between digital philosopher Luciano Floridi and a succession of discussion partners, we examine various visions for the digital age.
